Uzhunnu vada


If it is a rainy day everybody wants to taste something little spicy like this uzhunnuvada.It is the perfect combination with chutney.

Ingredients

1.Urad dal - 1 cup
2.Ginger chopped- 1 tsp
3.Green chillies chopped - 3 no
4.Shallots/kunjulli-8 no
5.Curry leaves
6.Salt
7.Oil
8.Soda powder a pinch
9.Crushed peppes - 3 no



Preparation

1.Soak the urad dal for about 3 hrs.Then drain it and grind it in to fine paste without adding water to it.

2.Then add shallots or onions,green chillies,ginger,salt ,black pepper crushed,soda powder to it and mix well and keep it for 15 mts.

3.Then wet your hands with water and take a small amount of batter in your hand and flatten it and make a hole in the center.We wet the hands because it will prevent the paste from sticking hands.

4.Then heat the oil and carefully slide the vada in to it and fry both sides well till golden brown colour.

Now the hot vada is ready..
