Appalu - A sweet snack from Andra Recipies or Booralu
Ingredients
1. Raw Rice flour - 1 cup
2.Maida or All purpose flour - 1/4 cup
3.Jaggery - 1 1/4 cup
4.Coconut powder - 1/4 cup
5.Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
6.Oil to deep fry
Preparation
1.Mix the rice flour with maida in a bowl and keep it aside.
2.Melt the jaggery in 1 cup of water until the jaggery completely dissolves in it.Turn off the fire .
3.Add the flour mix slowly in to the jaggery syrup be careful that no lumps should be formed.
4.when it starts to become thicken stop adding flour and allow it to cool.
5.After it become cool add the coconut powder and cardamom powder to it .
6.Heat the oil in pan and starts to prepare the balls out of it.Take little oil in your hand and take the mixture make it in to balls and then flatten it in to small rounds .
7.And deep fry it in the oil till it becomes golden brown in color.
Children will love this snack,it is in some other way similar to our neyyappam.
