In my schooldays koorka was a seasonal vegetable but today it is available in all season.It is not about cooking it is all about cleaning the koorka.I hate to clean the koorka as it brings color to my hands.But on thinking about the beautiful buttery taste of the dish I am ready to do anything for the dish.Here I am going to do it in a different way as called koorka pachavepppu,Here we are using coconut pieces as to add more taste and all the ingredients in the raw form.
Ingredients needed to make koorka upperi
1.koorka(chine potato)-11/2 cup
2.Coconut pieces -1/4 cup
3.Green chillies chopped - 10 no
4.Shallots/Kunjulli - 1/4 cup
5.Oil - 2 tsp
6.Salt as to taste
7.Curry leaves
How to make koorka upperi
1.In a pressure cooker take cleaned koorka (Chinese potato) now add the kunjulli,chopped green chillies,coconut pieces,curry leaves ,salt .and add water as needed to cook.
2.Now steam the cooker for 1 whiste .Using a spoon mix all the ingredients well .
3.At last add 2 tsp of oil to add more taste to the dish.
