Masala dosa

In the earlier recipe i discussed about how to make dosa now adding a little ingredients to it we can make delicious masala dosa.Even my husband is a big fan of dosa.


1.parboiled rice - 3 cup
2.urad dal - 1 cup
3.salt for taste


Soak the rice and urad dal separately for 6 hours .you can add 1 tsp of fenugreek seed to it also that will make it soft.

Grind both very well and mix it after grinding

Then keep the batter in a warm place for 12 hours for fermentation.

Add the salt only before you make the dosa .

Heat the pan griddle with ghee or oil then pour the batter and spread with spoon.

For Masala

1.potatoes - 2 big
2.onion - 2
3.Green chillies -3 or 4
4.Curry leaves/corrriander leaves
5. mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
6.oil - 1 tsp
7.salt for taste


1.Cut the potatoes and onions and along with green chillies also add salt to it and cook it in the cooker for 3 whisles.Mash the potatoes with a spoon.

2.Then in another pan add the oil and splutter the mustard seeds with curry leaves or corriander leaves.Then add the cooked potatoes to it.

Now the masala is ready and fill it inside the dosa while making.You can add green peace ,carrot to the masala if you like it.
