Nellikka Pickle Or Gooseberry pickle






Nellikka or indian gooseberry are considered as the major source of vitamin c.So when it is plenty in season why don't we try to make some delicious pickle.

Ingredients

1. Nellikka - 1 kg
2. Ginger - 2 tsp
3. Garlic - 2 pod
4.Green chilli - 5 or 6
5. Chilli powder - 2 tsp
6.Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
7.Sesame oil - 1/4 cup
8.Mustard seed -1/2 tsp
9.Fenugeek powder- 1/2 tsp
10.Asafotida powder - 1/2 tsp
11.Curry leaves
12. salt as needed

Preparation

1. Boil the nellikka with little turmeric powder and salt till it become tender.Don't pour the water ,we can use it instead of water.
2.Then cut it into 4 pieces without the seed.
3. Heat some oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seed then add ginger ,garlic,green chilli and curry leaves to it and saute it and to this add turmeric powder,chilli powder ,salt to it .
4. To this add boiled nellikka and mix well turn off the stove and then add fenugreek powder ,asafotida powder to it also add gingerly oil to it.
5. You can add boiled water to it if needed.
6. Store in tight container.
hmmm yummy pickle is now ready........
