ulli theeyal


As i already wrote about pavakka theeyal then why dont we think about ulli theeyal.Its preparation method is similar to that of pavakka.


Ingredients

1. ulli (small shallots) -100 gm
2. coconut - 1 cup
3.Green chillies -2 or 3 slitted
4.Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
5.Redchilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
6.Coriander powder -1 1/2 tsp
7.Red chillies -2 no
8curry leaves
9.Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
10.salt for taste
11.oil - 2 tsp
12.Tamarind in gooseberry sized ball
13.Fenugreek seed -1/4 tsp

Preparation

1. Fry the coconut in a frying pan until it becomes golden brown ,then reduce the flame and add red chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and mix it well but you have to make sure not to burn it. When it become cool grind it with little water.

2. In a frying pan add some oil and saute the ulli and greenchilli and add a little salt and turmeric powder.Then add the coconut gravy and tamarind pulp to it and boil well.

3.Then in another pan heat a little oil and splutter the mustard and fenugeek seed along with curry leaves and red chilli and pour it in to the curry.

Now the delicious ulli theeyal is ready ......
