Ladies Finger fry(vendakkai poriyal)-Tamilnadu recipe

Ladies finger fry or vendakai poriyal is the most common vegetarian recipe.white rice with curd and vendakai poriyal goes well.

Ingredients needed to make Vendakkai poriyal


1.Ladies finger -250 gm
2.Oil - 3 tsp
3.Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
4.Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
5.Onion - 1
6.Chilli powder - 1 tsp
7.Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
8.Asafoetida a pinch
9.Grated coconut - 2 tsp
10.Curry leaves

How to make vendakkai Poriyal


1.Chop the onions in well and cut the ladies finger to small pieces.

2.Heat the oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seeds,urad dal and asafoetida.Now add the curry leaves and chopped onions to it.

3.Saute it for 5 mts and then add the ladies finger to it.saute it again for another 2 mts and then add the red chilli powder,turmeric powder ,salt and asafoetida to it.

4.When the ladies finger cooked well add the grated coconut to it and mix it well.
