Vishu Katta
Today is vishu and every malayali is celebrating today.Make this vishukatta and celebrate the vishu in traditional way.In some parts of Kerala it is known as vishu kanji .But in my concern vishu kanji will be little watery type.And in my previous post i have already gave the recipe for vishu kanji.
It's recipe is really simple and easy to make.In some parts they will make it as a hot dish ,but in thrissur area it will be served with jaggery syrup.
Ingredients needed to make vishu katta
1.Raw rice (unakkalary) -1 cup
2.Coconut milk - 2 cup
3.Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
4.Cumin seed (jeera) - 1 1/2 tsp
5.salt as needed
For the jaggery syrup
1.Jaggery -1/2 kg
2.Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
How to make Vishu katta
1.Cook the rice in the coconut milk with salt .Once the rice is cooked well add cumin seeds and grated coconut to it.
2.It should be thick in structure .spread it in a plate and allow it to cool .Then cut it with a knife and get the desired shape.
3.Make the jaggery syrup by adding cumin seeds to it and serve the vishu katta with the jaggery syrup.
