Last saturday's train journey from hyderabad to bangalore was the worst journey of my life. Out tatkal ticket got autocancelled as we were in waiting list and thus we were forced to look into other options. www.irctc.co.in offered us the different trains from hyderabad to bangalore and there was a train which left kacheguda in hyderabad by 7:10 Pm to reach bangalore cantonment by 6:03 Am and if that was to happen then there was Intercity from bangalore to cochin which would reach Bangalore cantonment at around 6:27 Am. That appeared to be the best solution as all other alternates from bus to bangalore and then to Trichur was not that appealing.
We knew what travel in general compartment of train would be and decided to be early inorder to avoid disappointment and . thus we managed to reach there by 6:00 Pm and purchased the tickets and enquired about the platform in which the train would arrive. We informed about platform 3, platform 3 of kacheguda was already crowded enough to scare me about the rush in the journey ahead, we thought about back tracking but home beckoned me and thus decided to attempt the adventure and waited there, there was a train coming towards platform 3.
Bangalore expressed arrived but to my shock the 3 general compartment of the rear was already occupied and not a seat nor a portion of the berth was vacant and train continued to move until the engine reached the platform but now i was happy as there was 3 compartment which were unoccupied and they were locked and then a swam of people rushed towards each door and we were among them and in the midst of that rush the doors opened but there were people on the footboard with bags left behind and they desperately tried to pull in their bags while others screamed at them and rest either tried to pull them out or push them and somehow we dragged into it then found that already the seat and berths had people sleeping on them to declare occupation thus
