Ingredients
1.Chena /yum cut in cubes - 300 gm
2.Fried coconut - 1/4 cup
3.Coconut oil - 2 tsp
4. Cooked Tuvar dal - 1/2 cup
5.Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
6.Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
7.Green chillies - 2 chopped
8.Ginger chopped - 1 medium piece
9.Tamarind (size of small gooseberry)
10.Urad dal/Uzhunnu parippu - 1/2 tsp
11.Red chillies - 2
12.Curry leaves
For to ground the paste
1.Coconut grated - 1/2 cup
2.Green chillies - 2
3.Jeerakam /cumin - 1/2 tsp
Preparation
1.Cook the cubed yum by adding red chilli powder,turmeric powder ,salt and 1/4 cup water .2 whistle is enough for the yum.
2.Then to the cooked yum add green chillies,ginger,and tamarind pulp.When it starts to boil add the cooked tuvar dal to it.
3.Ground the coconut,green chillies and jeerakam in to fine paste.Add this to the cooked yum and tuvar dal.
4.Fry the rest of coconut in coconut oil and this to the above curry.Before frying beat the coconut once in mixer so that it will become even form.
5.Then turn off the fire and heat 2 tsp oil in another pan and add the urad dal,red chillies ,curry leaves to it.Fry it for 2 ts then pour this to the curry.Cover the curry with a lid for 2 mts so that the smell stay in it.
