Moong Dal Halwa - Dassara or Dusserha Sweet Recipe


Ingredients for Moong Dal Halwa

1.Moong Dal (split yellow gram) - 1 cup
2.Milk - 1 cup
3.Sugar - 1 cup
4.Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
5.Ghee - 6 tsp
6.Water - 1 cup

How to make Moong dal Halwa

1.Soak moong dal for 3 to4 hours .And then grind it to coarse paste by adding little water to it.

2.Heat ghee in a pan and then add the coarse moong dal paste to it and then fry it in to light golden color.

3. Boil the milk by adding 1 cup of water to it .And when it begins to boil add the fried moong dal to it and cook it well till all the milk evaporates and it become lightly thick.

4.Then add sugar to it and cook it in low flame till the ghee starts to seperate.

5.Add cardamom powder and serve it hot or cold.
