Kappa Biriyani (Tapioca Biriyani) or kappayum erachiyum





It is a Thattukada dish from the roadsides of kerala with mouth watering taste and very easy to make.

Ingredients for the preparation of kappa


1.Kappa /Tapioca - 1 kg

2.Salt
3.Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Ingredients for the preparation of beef


1.Beef - 1/2 kg

2.Chilli powder - 1 tsp

3.Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
4.Coriander powder - 1 tsp

5.Pepper powder - 1 tsp

6.Garam Masala powder - 1 tsp

7.Onions - 2 medium

8.Ginger and Garlic Paste - 1 tsp each

9.Salt

10.Curry leaves

11.Oil - 2 tsp


For Seasoning

1.Oil - 1 tsp

2.Curry leaves

3.Shallots/Kunjulli chopped - 1 tsp

4.Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp



Preparation


1.Cook the tapioca or kappa separatly by adding salt and turmeric powder to it.And keep it aside.

2.Heat the oil in a pan and add the ginger garlic paste to it then add the sliced onions,curry leaves to it and saute well.


3.To this add all powders along with salt and then add the beef.Mix the beef well with the masala and steam it in a cooker till the beef becomes cooked.

4.Mix the cooked kappa with cooked beef and mix it well with a spoon.Till both are blend together.

5.Then splutter the mustard seeds in another pan add the curry leaves,chopped kunjullies and pour this to the tapioca beef mixture.
