Boodi Ladoo -North indian Sweet


At first i also don't know what is boondi .Then after searching a lot i got the information that Boondi is a sweet Rajastani fried snack made from chickpea flour.To prepare the boondi ladoo the basic ingredient is the boondi.You can make the boondi at home using gram flour / basen or you can buy it ready made from super markets.

To make the boondi gram flour batter is made to small balls by using a ladle with holes .Then these balls are deep fried in oil and then these are dipped in sugar syrup.


Ingredients to make 8 ladoo


1.Gram flour - 1 cup
2.Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
3.Water - 1 cup
4.Crushed cardamom - 1 tsp
5.Almonds - 1 tsp
6.Oil


Preparation

1.Make sugar syrup by boiling sugar along with 1 cup of water.While preparing the sugar syrup, add a few drops of milk. Impurities will collect on the surface in a layer and we can remove it.Make it till it becomes one string consistency.

2.Then make the batter by mixing gram flour with 1/2 cup of water. Make sure no lumps should be formed.Make the batter as it should be dropping out from the ladle holes.

3.Heat the oil in a pan and pour the batter on the top of the ladle with holes so that the drops came out from it .Then fry the boondi in the oil till it becomes golden yellow in color.

4.Add the boodi to the sugar syrup then add the cardamom powder,almonds to it and mix it well.

5. Rub some ghee on your palms. Make laddoos by squeezing the boondi mixture in your palms and making round balls.
