Arbi is a hindi word and in English it means Colocassia(Taro root) and in Malayalam it means Chembu.
Ingredients For Arbi Fried
1.Arbi (Taro root ) sliced - 3 cup
2.Ajwain seeds (carom seeds ) - 1 tsp
3.Red chilly powder -1/2 tsp
4.Coriander powder - 2 tsp
5.Turmeric powder -1/4tsp
6.Salt
7.Mango powder (Amchur Powder) - 1/2 tsp
8.Dry red chilly - 3 to 4
9.Oil - 3 tsp
How to Make Arbi Fried
1.Wash and peel the skin of taro root and then slice it in to thin pieces.
2.Heat the oil in a pan and add the ajwain seeds and red chillies to it.
3.After 3 or 4 seconds add the sliced taro roots to it .Then stir fry it for 5 mts.
4.Cover it with a lid and cook it till it becomes well cooked and soft .
5.Then add the salt,turmeric powder,coriander powder,mango powder and red chilly powder to it .
6.Stir and again fry it till the taro roots are well coated with masala.By this time the taro roots will be lightly crunchy.
