1.Coconut oil - 1 tsp
2.Urad dal(uzhunnu) - 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Dry red chilly - 4
3.Onion chopped - 1/4 cup
4.Coconut grated - 1/4 cup
5.Salt
6.Tamarind - one gooseberry size
How to make chammanthi for Onam
1.Heat the coconut oil in a pan and add the uzhunnu parippu ,curry leaves and dry red chillies to it and fry it.
2.To this then add the chopped onions and saute it well then add the grated coconut to it and again fry it.
3.When the coconut starts to get red in color turn off the fire .And add tamarind and salt to it and grind it in the mixer without adding water to it.
