How to make Kalan
1.In a pressure cooker mix the yam pieces,raw banana pieces,curry leaves,green chillies,turmeric powder,red chilly powder,pepper powder and salt.Add little water to it and cook it covered.
2.When the pieces become cooked well add the curd to it and mix it well do not boil the curd .
3.Grind the coconut with jeerakam and make it to fine paste .Add this to the curry and bring it to boil.
4.Turn off the fire and in another pan heat the oil and splutter the mustard seeds ,red chilly and curry leaves .Add this to the curry and mix it well.
5.Add the fenugreek powder to the curry and mix it well.This is the perfect onam special curry.
