Chakka ada is considered as a seasonal snack,but if you can store the jackfruit as chakka varattiyath you can make the chakka ada at any time you want.So first we will deal with how to make the chakka varattiyath.
Ingredients needed to make chakka varattiyath
1.Jack fruit - 1 medium size
2.Ghee - 5 tsp -8 tsp
3.Jaggery - 250 to 300 gms
How to make Chakka varattiyath
1.Make fine pulp from jackfruit,then pour this in a heavy bottom vessel or uruli .keep the fire in simmer and stir in continously pour little ghee to it and stir it again.
2.Meanwhile in another pan add the jaggery and little water and make syrup of jaggey .
3.Pour this jaggery syrup to the jackfruit pulp and again stir it continously.When all water evaporate out from it pour the rest of ghee to it and cook it again .This is called the chakka varattiyath.
when it becomes cool you can store it in an airtight container.Keep it in fridge ..........

1.Roasted rice flour - 1 cup
2.Chakka varattiyath -2 cup
3.Grated coconut - 1 cup
4.Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
5.Plantain leaf/Edana ela - few number
How to make chakka ada
1.Mix all the ingredients really well and then take each edana leaf or vazhayila and apply the paste on it.
2.Then steam this each leaf atleast 20 to 25 mts.now the chakka ada will be ready to be served....
