paal kova /milk halwa

Yesterday evening when i was watching kairali channel i found Dr Lakshmi nair show in which she was in Tamilnadu with some one who was an expert in making paal kova.They were making this sweet dish with 10 ltrs of milk and here i changed it to 2 ltrs of milk and 200 gms of sugar.It is a sweet dish with really mouthwatering taste.But it needs more care and patience for making this sweet dish.

Ingredients needed to make Paal Kova

1.Milk-2 ltrs
2.Sugar -200gms

How to make Paal Kova

1.Take a large vessel or a nonstick pan ,pour the milk in and bring it to boil.

2.Stir it continously without sticking in the pan.When the milk become reduced to half and slightly thiick add the sugar to it.

3.When the milk become thick and turns to golden yellow in color turn off the flame.

4.You can cut it into shapes when it become cool.

Bundi payas - A Rajastani sweet

Again Deepawali visited ,crackers,new dress,sweets ,shopping,shopping ,shopping ........Wow what a colorful festival which brings only happiness.I wish a very happy deepawali to all.Today i am going to wright a rajashani sweet recipe which is similar to kheer.Few ingredients are needed to make the Bundi Payas,preparation time is vey low and easy to make.

Ingredients needed to make the Bundi Payas

1.Sweet Bundi- 1 cup
2.Milk - 1 ltr
3.Bay leaves- 2 no
4.Sugar - 1/4 cup
5.Cardamom powder- 1 tsp
6.Chopped pistachio- 1 tsp
7.Saffron - a few strands
8.Rose water - 1/2 tsp

How to make Bundi Payas

1.We can buy the readymade sweet bundi for cooking.
2.Boil the milk in a pan with bay leaves till it become reduced in volume and remove the bayleaves from milk.
3.Add sugar to the milk and mix it well.
4.Remove the milk from heat and now add the rose water,pistachios,saffron to it and mix it well.
5.Now keep the Bundi Payas cool and serve.......

Kajar Ka Burfi - A recipe from Vanitha Magazine

This recipe is also from the Vanitha Magazine ,prepared by Chef A .R Ghan .He is working with The Trident Hotel,Cochin.We all are familiar with kajar Halwa,but Burfi is something different.You will like this recipe ,it is also a simple recipe and easy to make.

Ingredients needed to make Kajar Ka Burfi


1.Grated carrot - 300 gm
2.Egg - 4
3.Sugar - 500 gm
4.Ghee - 300 gm
5.Maida/All purpose flour - 200 gm
6.Baking powder - 2 tsp
7.Cinnamon/Karuga Patta powder - 1/2 tsp
8.Salt little

How to make Gajar Ka Burfi

1.Pre heat the oven at 180 degree.

2.Beat the egg with sugar ,ghee.Use a egg beater for better result.

3.To the beaten egg add maida,baking powder,cinnamon powder,salt,and carrot.

4.Mix this really well and pour this mix in a geased baking tray.

5.Bake this in the oven for 10 to 15 mts.When it becomes cool cut it in to pieces.

Try this recipe in home yourt kids will love it .
