Munnar


Munnar is one of the beautiful places that i ever visited.It is situated 6000ft in idukki district.The majour attraction of munnar is its tea plantations,its pristine valleys,mountains and its exotic flora and fauna.August to may month is considered as the tourist season in munnar.
And there climate always lies between o-25.Neelakurinji is the flower which covers the hills in blue colour once in 12 years.It last bloomed in 2006 so next season will be in 2018.
major attractions of munnar are
1. Mattupetty - It is 13 k.m away from munnar,and famous for its diary farm working on indo swiss liive stock project.Nearly 100 varieties of cattles are there.visiting time is between 9 am.-11 am.and afternoon 2p.m-3.30 pm
also the fee is really cheap like 5 /head.one dam and lake is also near to it providing boating.
2.Eravikulam national park - It is nearly 15 km away from munnar.Famous for Niligiri thar and visitors are not allowed during monsoon season.And visiting time is 7-18 hrs.And fees are Rs1o for adults ,Rs 5 for children and Rs 50 for foreigners.Permission is given by the wild life DFO of munnr.
3. Devikulam - Sita devi lake is the major attraction and situated nearly 7 km from munnar.
4. Pallivasal - The first hydro electric power project of kerala.Situated nearly 8 km from munnar.
5.Pothamedu - Nearly 6 km away from munnar,famous for its tea ,coffee, cardomom plantations.

And the nearest railway station is alway at about 120 k.m away from munnar.And the other one is Ernakulam about 140 k.m from munnar.
