The jalebi are served as either warm or cold with a sugary exterior coating.

Ingredients For Jalebi

1.Maida - 1/2 cup
2.Basen /Gram flour - 1 tsp
3.Yeast - 1/2 tsp
4.Lukewarm water -1/2 cup
5.Sugar - 1/2 tsp
6.Oil - 1/2 tsp and for frying

Ingredients For the Sugar Syrup

1.Sugar - 1 cup
2.Water - 1/2 cup
3.Lemon juice - 1 tsp
4.Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
5.Saffron a pinch


1.Dissolve yeast in 1 tsp of water.

2.Add the maida,basen,sugar 1 tsp,oil 1 tsp, in to a bowl also add the yeast and little water and make it in to batter.And keep it aside for 1 hour.

3.During this time we can prepare the syrup.In a pan add the sugar,water ,lemon juice,saffron,cardamom powder and boil it in medium flame .It should be in a lose consistency.

4.Then heat the oil and pour the batter in a circular motion to get the shape of jalebi.You can use a ketchup bottle or a coconut shell with hole for to make jalebi.

5.When it bacomes golden color we can drain it out from oil.

6.Immerse the jalebi in syrup for 10 mts and you can serve it hot.
