Cherupayar parippu payasam/parippu pradhaman


1.Cheru payarparippu/moong dal - 1/2 cup
2.Jaggery - 1 cup
3.Water - 1 1/2 cup
4.Cardamom - 1/2 tsp
6.Cashew nuts - 50 gm
7.Raisins - 50 gm
8. Thick Coconut milk - 1 cup
9.Thin Coconut milk - 2 cup
10.Coconut slice/Thenga koth - one handfull


1.Roast the moong dal in cooker,and then add the 1 1/2 cup of water to it and cook the moong dal till it is soft.If it is good moong dal it will take only 3 whistle.When it is cooked mash the dal with a spoon.

2.In another vessel make the jaggery syrup and add this to the cooked moon dal and mix well.

3.Then add the thin coconut milk to it and boil well when it become thick add the thick coconut milk to it make sure that do not boil it.

4.Fry the raisins,coconut slices, and cashew in ghee and add this to the payasam.Also add the cardomom powder and mix well.

Now the yummy cherupayar parippu payasam is ready to be served.......
