Tel Koi - Bengali Festival Fish recipe

It is the "Polia Baisakh " festival recipe,in which the "Koi carp" fish is used .It goes very much with rice.In this post i will give you the recipe for "Tel Koi".

Ingredients For Tel Koi

1.Koi Fish - 6 no
2.Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
3.Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
4.Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
5.Mustard Oil - 4 to 5 tsp
6.Ginger and garlic paste - 1 tsp
7.Onion paste - 2 onions
8.Tomato paste - 1
9.Ghee - 1 tsp
10.Green chillies - 2
11.Salt

How to make Tel Koi

1.Clean the fish remove its head and make slits at few places in the fish.

2.Grind the cumin seeds and make powder of it and mix it with red chilly powder and turmeric powder.

3.Heat the oil in a pan and then add the onion paste to it and fry it well,then to this add ginger garlic paste.Also add the tomato paste and fry it also.Then add green chillies.

4.Now add the red chilly powder,turmeric powder ,salt and cumin powder to it.Mix it well.

5.Now add the fish to it ,if needed add water also .And cook the fish in that gravy.

6.At last add ghee to it .and serve it hot with rice................................
