kallappam- Kerala nadan recipe

Kallappam is the traditional Kerala dish with the taste of toddy from coconut.A special dish of typical christian family.In each and every special occasions of christian family kallappam is prepared.Usually prepared in evening during the get together of family members.This recipe is given by remya henry who is a member of orthodox christian family.

Ingredients for kallappam

1.Rice flour - 4 cup
2.Grated coconut - 2 cup
3.yeast - 1/2 tsp
4.Toddy - 3 cup
5.Salt
6.Sugar - 2 tsp

How to make Kallappam

1.Mix the flour with grated coconut ,yeast,toddy ,salt and sugar .

2.If excess water is needed add that also to the mix .

3.Keep the batter in warm place for minimum 5 hours .

4.Then heat the pan and slightly pour the batter and make small round out of it.

5.When one side is cooked well turn the other side and cook that also.

6. Chicken curry is the best combination for Kallappam.

Even though i did not prepared it but it looks good....
