Like "Aloo tikki " the chicpeas patties are also very tastful one.Spiced chickpeas with potatoes.This recipe is from "Manjulas Kitchen".
Ingredients
1.Boiled chickpeas (kabule chana) - 1 cup
2. Potatoes - 3
3.Shredded ginger - 1 tsp
4. Chopped coriander leaves (hara dhania) - 1 tsp
5. Green chilli chopped - 2 no
6.Black pepper - 1/2tsp
7.Salt
8.Lemon juice - 1 tsp
9.Oil to shallow fry
How to make Chola Tikki
1.Boil the potatoes really well.Take it out from the water and allow it to cool.Peel the skin of potatoes and mash the potatoes.
2.Drain the water out of the chickpeas and dry the chickpeas using paper towel making sure there is no access water in chickpeas.Mash the chickpeas coarsely; do not make smooth.
3.Add all other ingredients to potato and chickpeas and mix it well.
4.Apply little oil in your hands and divide the mixture into 8 to 10 equal portions.Make them into the shape of tikkies keeping them about a half inch thick.
5.Heat the oil in a flat pan on medium heat ,place the tikkis in the pan and shallow fry the tikkis ,until both sides golden brown in color.
