Chum chum (cham cham ) with pistachios -Bengali Recipe


Chum chum is a popular bengali sweet made with paneer.


Ingredients For Chum chum

1.Paneer made up from 1 ltr milk

2.Sugar - 2 cup
3.Water - 5 cup
4.All purpose flour - 2 tsp
5.Corn flour - 2 tsp
6.Sliced pistachios -1 table spoon

How to make Chum Chum (cham cham)


1.If you are using fresh paneer it will be good.In a clean surface place the paneer add 2 tsp corn flour,2 tsp maida to it and knead it really well till the dough become soft.

2.Divide the paneer dough into 8 equal parts and roll it in to smooth oval shaped ball.

3.In a pan mix the sugar with water and bring it to boil and make the syrup.Make sure that the pan is large enough to accomodate the finished Cham-Chams, as they will expand to double their size while cooking in the syrup.

4.Add the balls to the syrup and bring it to boil,then make the heat to simmer and cover the pot and cook it for 10 mts.

5.Then turn the chum chums and cook it for another 15 mts.Check it again that it should get a spongy look .Turn off the heat and leave it for another 15 mts in the syrup.

6.Now remove the chum chums from the syrup and serve it chill.

7.Cover the chum chum with sliced pistachios and serve it.
