Doi llish -Bengali Fish Recipe

Ingredients For Doi llish

1.Hilsa /llish - 1 kg
2.Yogurt -1/2 cup
3.Mustard paste (mix with green chillies)-4 tsp
4.Ginger paste - 1 tsp
5.Green chillies - 4 no slitted
6.Kalonji(Nigella Seeds)-1/2 tsp
7.Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
8.Mustard oil - 3 tsp
9.Salt

How to make Doi llish

1.Clean the fish and cut it,pat dry the fish.Marinate the fish with turmeric powder and salt.Keep it for almost 20 mts.

2.Heat the oil in a pan and fry the marinated fish pieces in it.When it becomes light brown in color drain it out from the oil.

3.In a bowl mix the yogurt or curd with mustard paste.

4.In the same oil splutter the kalonji and then add the green chillies to it.Then add the ginger paste to it.Saute it for 2 mts and then add the yogurt mix to it.

5.Add the fried fish to this sauce and cook it again.When the sauce becomes thicken turn off the fire.
