Muri Ghonto -Bengali Fish Recipe

Muri Ghonto is a Bengali Fish recipe in which the fish head is cooked with rice.By searching a lot through net i consider this recipe is the perfect one.Peferably the head of Rohu fish is used for this dish.

Ingredients needed to fry the fish head

1.Fish head- 3 or 4
2.Salt
3.Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
4.Oil

How to Fry the Fish Head

1.Clean the fish head neatly.

2.Sprinkle some salt and turmeric powder on top the fish head. And keep it for 10 mts .

3.Heat the oil in a kadai and then add the fish head to it and fry them till it turns light brown in color.Remove it from oil and break it in to medium size pieces.

Ingredients For Muri Ghonto

1.Fried fish head - 3
2.Potatoes - 2
3.Onion - 2 no
4.Ginger paste - 1 tsp
5.Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
6.Greenchillies - 3
7.Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
8.Salt
9.Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
10.Basmathi rice - 1/4 cup

How to make Muri Ghonto

1.Make cubes of potatoes and fry them in the oil till golden color.Take it out from the oil and keep it aside.

2.Add the chopped onions to the same oil and saute it till it gets golden color.Then add the ginger and green chilly paste to it and saute it again.

3.Then add cumin powder,red chilli powder,garam masala powder to it and saute it well.Add the fried potatoes to it .

4.Add the washed basmathi rice to it and mix it well.Fry it for 2 mts add the fried fish head to it.

5.Add salt and 1 cup of water to it and cook it till the rice is cooked well.Add ghee on its top this will add more taste to the dish.
