Egg Halwa - Bengali sweet recipe


Egg halwa sounds different na,when i heard it first time i also thought what will be it?Then i remembered that in Kerala we are also preparing something very similar to this called as "Mutta Mala",it is the traditional Malabar Muslim recipe.

This is the traditional recipe of making egg halwa.In Bengali it is called as "Dim-er Halua",the halwa should be smooth enough so that it just melt in your mouth.

Ingredients For making Egg Halwa

1.Egg - 4
2.Milk- 500 ml
3.Ghee - 2 tsp
4.Green cardamom - 3
5.Saffron powder - a pinch
6.Sugar -1/2 cup
7.Almonds and pistachios for garnishing

How to make the Egg Halwa

1.Boil the milk and add sugar to it and reduce the milk to half its volume.

2.Beat the egg really well and then pour the beaten egg slowly to the milk,and stir it continously.

3.Add ghee ,saffron powder and cardamom powder to it .Cook it really well so that the ghee starts separate out from it.

4.Remove it from the fire and garnish it with sliced almonds and pistachios.........
