Malpua - A Bengali sweet Recipe


Malpua is a very popular sweet dish prepared during the festival times.An authentic Bengali sweet recipe.Almost silmilar to the pan cakes but soaked in sugar syrup.

Ingredients to make the Malpua sweet

1.Khoya (mava ) - 50 gms
2.Milk - 1 1/2 ltr
3.Sugar - 2 cup
4.All purpose flour(maida) - 3 table spoon
5.Kesar (Saffron) - a few strands
6.Ghee for frying
7.Pistachios chopped for garnishing
8.Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp

How to make Malpua

1.Boil the milk in a heavy bottom pan and reduce it to half its volume by stirring it in low flame.

2.Then add grated mava(khoya )to it and mix it well.Then turn off the fire.

3.Add 2 cups of water to the sugar and then bring it to boil and make it one string consistency.

4.Add 2 tsp sugar,cardamom powder ,and maida to the milk mix and mix it well.

5.It should be in a consistency of a batter and there should be no lumps.Now heat a wide kadai add pour little ghee on it.Pour spoonful of batter to it and make pancake .Cook it in low flame.

6.When both sides are cooked well soak it in sugar syrup.

7.Serve it with pistachios topping.
