Sweet Parwal -A Bengali Sweet Recipe

Parwal is" pointed gourd" this is something new to Kerala and we do not make sweet with this parwal.This is a recipe in which parwal is used to make a very sweet dish.
Ingredients needed to make the Sweet Parwal

1.Parwal - 3 no
2.Sugar - 250 gm
3.Khoya - 450 gm
4.Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
5.Saffron strands - few
6.Pistachios and almonds - 10 no each

How to make the Sweet Parwal

1.Peel the skin of Parwal and make slit on it.Steam it to make it soft.

2.Roast the khoya till it becomes light pink stir it continously.

3.Allow it to cool and then add chopped pistachios, almonds,cardamom ,and saffron to it.

4.Stuff this in each parwal .

5.Make sugar syrup of one thread consistency by boiling it with 1 cup water.

6.Add the filled parwal in boiling syrup and cook it again for few more minutes.

7.Remove it from heat and take out the parwal from syrup and decorate it with silver foil.
